A Bedrock in Mining – An introduction to critical minerals production for executives

The course is designed as a high-level introduction to the Mining Industry; Its intent is to raise awareness, not provide a detailed technical explanation or to educate graduate type students. The intended audience for this course is individuals with new responsibilities, both direct and indirect, within the Mining Sector.  They are likely to be Managers and Executives that are new to Mining; Government officials, Regulators and Agency representatives, and other similarly interested parties. Renewable Energy 101

  •  May 6 – 16, 2024

Renewable Energy (RE) 101 is a fully immersive and interactive virtual learning experience, as an introductory course providing the fundamentals of renewable energy generation. It will explain: 1) the energy generation mix, 2) how the different technologies generate electricity, 3) different energy storage technologies, 4) capital and operating costs with a cash flow analysis, 5) variables that impact energy production, 6) transmission, 7) levelized cost of energy, and 8) emissions. You will gain a working knowledge of the key criteria in renewable energy resource assessment, familiarity with the variables that impact energy production, tax benefits, how RE impacts the “Duck Curve”, curtailments, and electricity pricing, along with the importance of capacity factor in comparing different generation sources. This event is a 4-day course that covers engineering, equipment, materials, and methods for grouting and ground modification used in civil and geotechnical engineering, underground construction, tunneling, and mining projects of various types. The conference intends to bring together engineers, scientists, researchers, and educators to discuss and review IT advances in geo-engineering and provide a forum for the discussion of future trends. An Integrated Valuation and Risk Modelling approach to Dynamic DCF and Real Options

This course will show participants how to create a spreadsheet-based dynamic cash flow model and interpret the value and risk information it generates. It teaches participants how to overlay a description of project market uncertainty with a decision-tree to assess the value of project flexibility and the level of investor risk exposure. A case study based on the Blackwater Project in B.C.
