Parking Information
Parking regulations are strictly enforced on the Colorado School of Mines campus. All visitors to campus are required to pay for parking in all locations. Payment is made using the parking payment stations that can be found in the parking lots or by cell phone (see below). The stations accept payment in cash and by credit card. On-street parking may be available. Payment for on-street parking must be made using the payment stations in the parking lots. Please note that some parking areas are restricted/reserved and are not available for use by campus visitors.
You are advised that the Continuing and Professional Education Services office cannot be responsible for payment of parking tickets issued.
Full Parking Information
Full and up-to-date information about parking on the Mines campus can be found at the following web address: https://www.mines.edu/parking/visitors/
Please be sure to zoom and scroll the map available on the page in order to see all campus parking areas.
For some events, discounts on parking fees are available. Please read your registration confirmation materials carefully to learn more about parking discounts if available.
Payment-by-Cell
Mines offers ParkMobile as a pay-by-cell option for all visitors. Go to app.parkmobile.io/zone/start or download the ParkMobile application on your mobile phone. You will be prompted to create an account and add your vehicle information. Then you will need to enter the four digit zone number for the lot you parked in. The zone numbers are located on the yellow and black ParkMobile signs in each lot. At any time, if your visit is unexpectedly extended, you can extend the amount of time needed to continue parking in the lot. For assistance, please contact the Parking Department at (303) 273-3100.
Pay Stations
Pay station locations are indicated by orange dots on the Campus Parking Map. Our pay stations accept credit/debit cards; some accept cash and coin (no pennies), but they do not give change. Using a pay station in a Blue lot will allow you to park in any Blue lot, campus street and Yellow lots. Paying for parking at a pay station in a Yellow lot will allow you to park in any Yellow lot or Mines Park residential area. Printing a pay station receipt is optional and display of the receipt is not required as parking is enforced via license plate recognition software. Report pay station errors to the Parking Department at (303) 273-3100. Campus parking maps are available at all pay stations to help guide you around campus.
Restricted Areas
RESTRICTED AREAS
Daily, Yellow, and Blue permits are not valid in faculty and staff Reserved lots, indicated in red on the campus parking map. Parking in fire lanes, no-parking or loading zones, service spaces, or handicap spaces (without a valid handicap placard) is strictly prohibited.
PARKING IN GOLDEN RESIDENTIAL AREAS
The City of Golden enforces a city permit requirement in the residential areas surrounding campus. Parking by anyone other than residents of these communities will be ticketed by the City of Golden. These areas are shown on the campus map as those outside the gray highlighted campus boundaries.
