2023 Fees & Registration

The registration fee is US $3995 through September 9,2023. After September 9, 2023 the fee is US $4245.

The Short Course registration fee includes software packages for a limited 1-year license. The license can be extended on a yearly basis as needed (US $1500/year). Attendees will be given a link to the software.

The progressive workshop software includes:

  • EMPV (Effective Management of Process Variability)
  • OSP (Optimization of Sampling Protocols)
  • OGC (Ore Grade Control)
  • AA (Agreement Analysis)

Registration fees must accompany enrollment forms. Attendees who enroll for the Short Course by September 9, 2023 will receive a free electronic copy of the textbook “Pierre Gy’s Theory of Sampling and C.O. Ingamells’ Poisson Process Approach” by Dr. Francis F. Pitard. This is an important document for those involved with sampling precious metals and trace constituents.

Every attendee will receive the third edition textbook (2019) from Dr. Francis F. Pitard:   Sampling Theory and Sampling Practice. Textbook published by CRC Press, Inc., 2000 Corporate Blvd., N.W. Boca Raton, Florida. It is a reference book for a lifetime.

The sponsor reserves the right to cancel the course and return registration fees if enrollment is insufficient. Cancellations by registrants will be assessed a $300 service fee. No refund will be made to registrants who fail to substitute or cancel five working days prior to the start of the course. Personnel substitutions may be made at any time without cost penalty. Short Course participants will receive 2.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon completion of course.

This course is offered as part of the Statewide Extended Studies Program of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. The Colorado School of Mines will award 3.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion of this course.

Cancellation and Attendee Substitution Policy

Any modification, including cancellation, of your registration requires written notice that must be emailed (Learn@mines.edu) or faxed (303.384.2695) to the CPES office. The following information applies:

  • Attendee substitutions may be made without cost penalty at any time up to the date of the start of the event.
  • Cancellations will be accepted if notice of cancellation is received at the CPES office at least five (5) working days prior to the date of the start of the event. Registrants who cancel within this period will be charged a $275 service fee.
  • No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to cancel within the specified cancellation period.

The sponsor reserves the right to cancel the course and return all registration fees if enrollment is insufficient.

Visa/Invitation Letter

Any person traveling to the United States who requires a passport or invitation letter should check with the appropriate embassy to determine exactly what is necessary to permit travel to the U.S. We will be pleased to provide you with an invitation letter upon request. Request invitation letter

Reminder! Acquiring a visa for entry into the United States can take several months. You should apply for your visa as early as possible.

Health and Insurance

The registration fees do not include insurance. It is recommended that all registrants consult their travel agent and take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Symposium. The Organizing Committee cannot accept responsibility for uninsured participants.

Currency and Taxes

All transactions are based on US currency (dollars and cents). Denominations are $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100. Coins are 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cents. There are several branches of US banks within walking distance of the Symposium venue; however, it is recommended that foreign currency be exchanged at Denver International Airport upon arrival.

The State of Colorado assesses taxes on most services and goods, and these taxes are typically included in the price of the goods purchased. No taxes will be added to your Symposium fees.
