Like all of your institutions, agencies, and companies, Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is working to manage the constantly evolving Corona virus situation. The pandemic has had a major impact on Mines, which planned to host GPR 2020, the 18th International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar. We anticipate that this situation will continue for the foreseeable future. We appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging time. Taking into account projections by epidemiologists combined with international travel restrictions, along with local, state, and national guidelines to mitigate the spread of infection, we are left with no choice but to postpone GPR 2020 from its planned dates of June 14-19, 2020 at Mines. At present, we are considering options for rescheduling the conference and managing the substantial number of extended abstracts that we have already received. We will send an update as soon as we have determined a firm plan and schedule. This outcome is disappointing, but we believe that our global GPR community is resilient, and we look forward to reconnecting with all of you when the health situation has been mitigated.
Authors, presenters, and reviewers — thank you for your initial submissions and reviews. Your session and paper topics are exciting and valuable for the GPR community. For all conference participants — thank you for your support, including help with conference planning, helping to spread the word in your local contexts, and in all ways that you support the GPR community.
If you have registered for the conference as an author, exhibitor, or sponsor, you will receive a full refund on the credit/debit card you used to complete the transaction. Payments made by other means will be refunded in the mode by which they were made. Please be patient with us as we complete this process; it may be a few days before reimbursement is processed. Anyone who has reserved residence hall space will be automatically refunded; no further action is required on your part. If you have made hotel reservations, please contact the hotel directly to request your refund.
