Hua Wang is an Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science at Colorado School of Mines. He joined the department as an Assistant Professor right after he finished his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2012. In 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure. His current research interests include machine learning and data mining, as well as their applications in cheminformatics, medical image computing, health informatics, additive manufacturing, bioinformatics, and computer vision. He is developing efficient algorithms with nice theoretical guarantees to solve practical problems involving large scale data.
Dr. Wang has served as a member of many committees, as a peer reviewer, and as a contributor for conferences such as The International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI 2018), The IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), The AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI 2017), and numerous others.
